Changchup chieling nuns from Zangla depart to Bangalore for Wipro earthian Award event 2022 .The nunnery conducted special prayer for their safe journey.With blessings and wishes they left Zangla today .....
DAY 1
WIPRO EARTHIAN AWARD CEREMONY
It's a matter of a great pride that a small Nunnery "Changchup Choeling Nunney ,Zangla Zanskar" U.T Ladakh made it big at national level Wipro Earthian contest.Changchup Choeling Nunnery Zangla has been featured as one of the winning schools at the Sustainability Education Initiative instituted by the Wipro Foundation.The nunnery has been selected as one of the 20 best schools in the country at Sustainability awards program 2022.The students and the teachers were felicitated at a grand event at Bangalore.Notably, the winning project by the nunnery has been wholly prepared in the Zangla.
Wipro Earthian Awards, instituted by the Wipro Foundation, encourages school students to think innovatively on subjects related to the environment and sustainability. Students can choose one or more topics from ‘sustainability and waste management’, ‘sustainability and water’, and ‘sustainability and biodiversity’.
Navikru Eco Foundation (subsidiary of Little Green World) is the partner organization of Wipro Foundation for their Wipro earthian Program for Ladakh region who conducted orientation program and introduced the Wipro earthian project to the teachers.
Preeti Chauhan and Phuntsog Angmo are the two Sustainability Educators of Wipro Foundation for the program at Ladakh who guided and co ordinated the entire peoject.
Tsering Angmo, Stanzin Skitzom, Stanzin Yangdol, of Class V and Sonam Lhadon of class lV participated in the contest under the guidance of their teachers Stanzin Jigsal and K.S.Devina. Other nuns of the monastery also supported their activities.

Day 2 :12Feb 2023
The second day of Wipro Earthian Program .
The day began with Screening of Oscar nominated film named "All that breathes" followed by a Q&A session with the characters of the film.
This was a very ineractive session where the students showed their curiosity about the kites and their protection.
All the winning teams thereafter exhibited their work and exchanged their ideas with each other.The teams from schools demonstrated their understanding of Biodiversity , waste and water through a combi ation of activity based learning programme.
The nuns of Changchup Choeling Nunnery ,Zangla Zanskar
presented their one year long project in the form of Photo journey.The audience appreciated their work with limited resources but great intentions.Our team member Stanzin Yangdol talked about Zangla and life at Zangla.Stanzin Skitzom and Tsering Angmo talked about the project and practices initiated at Zangla in order to conserve enviroment.Sonam Lhadon talked about composting and vermicomposting practices at Zangla.The nuns also shared their experiences ad learning from this Program.They also appealed the audience to be "Responsible tourists" and took the lead as a torchbearer for the upcoming generation.
Post lunch the students,teachers and educators were given the experience of Nature classroom.Number of activities were conducted to connect the students and teachers with nature.
Rishad Premji ,executive Chairman of WIPRO limited and Anurag Behar,CEO of Azim Premji Foundation ,felicitate the winning teams with certificates and cash prize.
Changchup Choeling Nunnery, Zangla Zanskar expresses heartfelt thanks to NAVIKRU ECO FOUNDATION (subsidiary of Little Green World) which is the partner organization for their WIPRO earthian Program for Ladakh region for introducing this program to us.
The nunnery acknowledges and feels deeply thankful to the two sustainability educators Ms Preeti Chauhan and Ms Phuntsog Angmo for orienting and guiding the monastery throughout the project.
The nunnery also extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the village of Zangla and each one associated with us in this noble project.We hope to create a Sustainable future and the earth a better place to live.
