Camera a powerful tool

Session -1
In order to make students aware of other means of reaching to the world, Changchup Choeling Nunnery,Zangla Zanskar organized a session on "Camera a powerful tool".
The session was conducted by a renowned film maker Ms. Eliza Kubarska from Poland and her assistant Mr Sulav from Nepal.The resource person showed the students, her documentary on Badjao tribal living in the mid of ocean surrounded by three countries Indonesia, Malesia and Philepines.The movie was based on how the Badjao tribals are struggling to conserve their culture and environment , which sensitized the nuns of the Zangla monastery about preserving their own culture and environment.After the session ,the nuns made a beautiful posters for Badjao tribals portraying their life style and culture.Ms. Eliza the resource person has promised to gift the posters to Badjao people as a token of love from Zangla nuns.The students were also taught the basics of the camera and it's parts and got hands on experience under her supervision.
In nutshell ,the session touched upon two aspects at the same time, "Digital and media literacy "as well as preservation of "Culture and Environment".Heartfelt thanks to Ms Eliza for conducting this sensitive and informative session for us.






Session-2
Camera ….A powerful tool.....Session 2
In the series of the program “ Camera…….A powerful tool” initiated at Zangla ,another session was conducted from 5 th to 7th oct 2022.The film maker Eliza Kubarska with her team visited Changchup Choeling Nunnery,Zangla Zanskar on 4th Oct 2022 in order to film the daily life of the nuns and inspire the people around the world.The film crew includes the producer Monika Braid, the cameraman Piotro Solowski , sound engineer Zotia Morus and the director Eliza Kubarska.The film maker presented the documentary “ The wall of Shadows” about Sherpa people .The show was followed by conversation between film protagonist Dawa Tenzin Sherpa from Nepal .Dawa’s father works on mountain expedition and Sherpa as a climber interacted with nuns about “ Why people climb mountain?”
On the other hand ,it’s a matter of a great pride that the above mentioned film maker with her team is working on a short film about the recent emerging association “All Zanskar Buddhist Nuns Association”.They interviewed the association President Lobzang Angmo to know about the aims and objectives of the association.The crew member also interacted with the teacher Tenzin Tsepel to know about their new curriculum based on NEP 2022 followed in the school.
Overall the 3 days program organized at Changchup Choeling Nunnery ,Zangla Zanskar was very interesting and informative in terms of exposing the Zangla Nuns to the outer world.
