Vermicomposting at the campus in collaboration with SKUAST

Changchup Choeling Nunnery, Zangla Zanskar has put the step forward to begin Vermicomposting at the campus in collaboration with SKUAST.A training session has been held by Mr Tashi Dawa and Jigmet Yangchen under which the nuns of the Zangla nunnery were trained to make good quality compost. Though , the nuns at the nunnery are already practicing composting method of making manure with biodegradable waste ,but availability of Red worms and creating favourable condition for the growth of the red worms was always a problem .We are hoping that under the supervision of the experts ,the nunnery will be able to make good vermicompost which can further be used in the green house for organic farming .Changchup Choeling Nunnery ,Zangla Zanskar feels grateful to SKUAST.for this step towards the agricultural growth of the monastery.
