Bhoti Day Celebration…………An initiative to preserve an endangered script of Trans Himalayan language

In order to preserve and promote the culture of Zanskar ,Changchub Choeling Nunnery Zangla ,Zanskar has taken yet another initiative and celebrated Bhoti Day in association with Zangla village.The event was organised on 23 rd April 2022 at Changchub Choeling Nunnery Zangla ,Zanskar.The celebration began with Lamrim Monlam .The event was graced by the presence of Chief guests Pasang Lawang , President of Bodhi Association Of Zanskar .To create the awareness about Bhoti language and it’s importance , the nuns of Changchub Choeling Nunnery Zangla performed a Puppet Show.The Amma association of the Zangla Village conveyed a beautiful message to revive the Bhoti language through their beautiful folk Dance .Youth of the village was not behind any more and The Nyamso Tsokpa performed a role play to depict the origin of the Bhoti Language.Geshe Lobzang Jigmet and Geshe Tsewang Rigzin talked about the history and importance of this trans Himalayan language.This was followed by a series of cultural performance by the villagers and the audience.The chief guest addressed the gathering and sensitized them about preserving the Bhoti language.For developing interest for Bhoti among the kids ,Bhoti quiz contest was conducted, in which Schools like Duzing Photang,Karsha Gonpa School, Fakmoling Nunnery Skyagam, Govt. High School Zangla participated.The event was a great success and propagated the message to revive the Ancient endangered script of Trans Himalayan Language
