Our Culture ,Our Identity

Changchup choeling Nunnery ,Zangla Zanskar has initiated a project to preserve Culture and Environment.The projects aims at doable and viable actions to revive our old culture and propagating the same to the next generation.At the same time ,The project clearly defines its objective towards saving the environment.

In the modern era when we are talking high about being digital and technical, cultural and environmental aspect of development is completely ignored.Especially when roads are being made to enhance the connectivity of Zanskar and Ladakh, preserving culture and environment is the biggest challenge.Noticing all these things ,Changchup choeling Nunnery is trying to put best efforts at its level to save the uniqueness of Ladakh and Zanskar.

Under this project the nuns of the Monastery are learning

• Stone carving

• Manuscipt writing

• Yoga

• organic farming

• waste management

• reuse and recycle plastic

• Mandala Art etc.

• Biocomposting

Through this project the Changchup choeling Monastery tries to create awareness among the people to come forward and join hands to save environment and culture before it gets too late.
